Currently seeking part-time, well-compensated instructors for the following upper division Fashion Design courses:

This course teaches the use of apparel industry computer applications.
Students will learn to create computer-generated sketches, fabric prints, theme boards, patterns, and specification sheets used in the planning and design of a variety of clothing and textiles.

Planning, pricing, promotion, and distribution of products within marketing systems, consumer motives and the psychological, social, ethical and financial factors that affect the marketing decisions are analyzed.

Students gain knowledge of preparation and presentation of their portfolio. Rsum preparation, job search procedures, interviewing skills, presentation techniques, and portfolio critique is emphasized.

Contemporary management issues in retail environment are discussed. Students will be educated on retail management topics such as inventory planning and control, store design, merchandising, promotion, product/brand management, human resources, legal/ethical concerns, information technology resources, finance/accounting needs, and sales and trend forecasting.

Public relations, stylization, publicity, advertising practices, and promotional strategies employed within the fashion design and merchandising industries are discussed. Students learn techniques used to create press kits,
promote fashion events, coordinate photo shoots, develop celebrity images, and guide consumer preferences and behavior. Students gain the ability to research, write, and edit fashion articles, press releases, advertisements, and biographies.

Minimum Requirements:
Master's degree in the Fashion Design, Fine Arts or related field
3 years successful, industry related teaching experience
